When we left southern California last Thursday, it was sunny and warm - and stayed that way until we turned off the 395 to June Lake - the last 2 miles. We drove right into a snowstorm, and set up in a blizzard. When we got up Friday morning, there was just a couple of inches on the ground, but the roads were solid ice.

I took this first thing Friday morning with the sun over my shoulder.

This one was about an hour later after the ice had begun to melt off the roads and it was safe to walk on them.
Friday was the coldest day - it got gradually warmer each day that we were there. Don caught lots of fish, I read several books and didn't think about work AT ALL. Wonderful.
