I've been catching up on various things since we returned from Texas yesterday. Today, I decided to tackle Google Reader - where I had 567 posts waiting to be read. At first, I scrolled through them chronologically - it shows the newest ones first. But after a while, I decided to select various bloggers and read all their posts at once.
I'm a little jealous of the full- and part-timers who have made their ways to the different warm spots they love to live in during the winter - from southern Arizona, to southern Texas, to Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia, and to the desert spots closest to me in Anza Borrego and the Mojave.
We returned from Texas to 5 inches of snow on the ground, and then last night it snowed another 2-3 inches. We ran the heater most of the morning and then Don got a fire going in the fireplace. So while I'm warm, it's not barbecuing or hiking weather!
My happy countdown continues - and we're looking forward to next winter, when maybe we can track some of these folks down and enjoy a taste of their lifestyle with them. Until then...

Of course, I know you may feel differently, but I would love the snow! I'm actually enjoying the cool weather here (some would call it cold), and I'm rather eager to have a good snow. It has been dry for quite a while and we could use the moisture. Of course, it helps that I can be "house bound" and not care. I cared a lot when I was still working.
Where in TX are you? We're still in Jamestown TN and it's way too cold for us. Last several nights have been in the 20's. Brrrr...
Donna, we're back home in California, but we WERE in Lubbock where my mom lives.
We had a very cold Thanksgiving in the Santa Cruz Mountains. No snow though.
I know exactly what you mean when you say you feel a little jealous. I'm beginning to wonder if we will end up as "anytimers" As well.
Sorry about the snow, but your time will come!
It seems to be cold everywhere right now - even NM and AZ. When I do see a picture of folks out in the warm sun right now though, I know how you feel.
Cyndi I can relate and just know that the time is ticking down for both of us to hit the road...
Summers here in SC are burtal but winter is pretty good--so Im right where I want to be right now! BUT you may as well make the best of that snow, build up a snowman and make some Snowcream!
Trust me the time will fly by and you'll be foot loose before you know it!
